Setting up your Practice
IN THIS LESSON
While our body may be in one place, our mind may be in another, and our breath bridges that connection.
When we consciously become aware of our flow of breath, we bring our mind and body together in one place. We feel our energizing inhale and relaxing exhale, promoting positive physiological reactions in our nervous system.
Benefits of Deep Diaphragmatic Breathing
Reduced Stress
Lowered Blood Pressure
Pain Management
Oxygenation & Energy
Improved Immunity
Promote Sense of Calm
Notice your breathing for a while in your seated or standing posture. Become aware of any thoughts, emotions, or sensations that come up without judgment or action. Notice them, and let them pass. Return to your breathing if you feel you’ve wandered away from your awareness of the self, body and breath.
