Many people begin the visioning process by focusing on what they want to achieve.

While goals matter, one of the most powerful ways to build a meaningful vision is to start with how you want to feel. Before identifying specific accomplishments, take time to consider the emotions you hope to experience in your future. Do you want to feel confident, healthy, peaceful, energized, financially secure, fulfilled, connected, adventurous, and purposeful?

When we focus on feelings first, our vision becomes more personal and sustainable. A promotion, a new home, improved health, or a dream vacation may all represent deeper emotional desires. Often, what we truly seek is not the goal itself, but the feeling we believe the goal will provide. By identifying those emotions, we create a stronger foundation for our vision and can find multiple paths to achieving them.

Embody Your Vision:

In this lesson, you will listen to a guided visualization meditation to help kickstart this process. Through intentional reflection and visualization, you'll have an opportunity to quiet distractions and focus on the emotions, values, and experiences that matter most to you.

As you begin constructing your vision, imagine yourself already living your ideal future. Notice how you feel when you wake up each morning. How do you carry yourself? What thoughts run through your mind? What relationships surround you? What activities fill your time? What tools are there to help you along the way?

After you watch the chapter video, you should be able to answer the following:

  • What does success look like for you?

  • How do you feel?

  • What habits are you practicing?

  • What accomplishments have you achieved?

This process helps move your vision from a distant dream into an experience you can mentally and emotionally connect with today. As you move forward, remember that your vision board should reflect more than things you want to have. It should capture the life you want to live and, most importantly, how you want to feel while living it!
